Paisley Family Association

History and Genealogy of the Paisleys of North Carolina and Virginia

P F A Charter

I. The Purpose of the Paisley Family Association (PFA) is to celebrate the descendants and ancestors of William and John Paisley, American colonists from County Tyrone, Ireland in 1736.  While we are a “corporate member” of Clan Paisley and support their mission of “gathering the Clan” worldwide, our primary focus is family history, genealogy, and DNA research.

II.  Membership includes, but is not limited to, descendants of William and John Paisley.  Any interested person may join.

III.  PFA officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Chaplain.  All officers are volunteers, and are elected by (and serve at the pleasure of) the members.

IV.  Annual dues are five dollars per member/family per year.  The amount can be changed by a majority vote of the members. One dollar per member/family per year supports Clan Paisley.

V.  Meetings are held annually, alternating between North Carolina and Virginia, at the discretion of meeting organizers.  PFA committees may be established as officers and members deem appropriate to serve the needs of the membership.

VI.  All PFA projects, decisions, and activities require the approval of a quorum of the membership by vote or acclamation, as do any changes or additions to existing rules or protocols.
